What Makes Sushi So Healthy?

So you probably have heard that the Japanese population is quite healthy on average and that sushi in particular is a healthy choice of cuisine.
But what makes this such a healthy food choice? For one thing, sushi meals tend to have excellent portion control. No one item is too big. Even the rice bowls tend to be moderate in size.
Another thing is that sushi often is made of high quality fish, many of which contain healthy fats. These are good for the heart and the brain too.
Finally, sushi has very intense and rich flavoring, and it has been show that people eat less when their palate is satisfied. So you might just end up feeling full on fewer calories.
So if you happen upon your favorite sushi joint (mine being the Sushi Mon Las Vegas sushi restaurant), make sure to stop in for some wonderfully delicious, healthy food.
